Sebastian

Meet Seb, a vibrant footballer from Queens, New York but with Jamaican roots. He found himself drawn back to Jamaica for the second consecutive year to volunteer with us on our annual trip.

Reflecting on his experience, he described it as nothing short of captivating. Being immersed in the vibrant culture and warm spirit of Jamaica had a profound impact on him, reshaping his perspective on the potential for change within our generation of football enthusiasts.

"Jamaica was such an influential trip," Seb mused, "It made me realize the power we hold as the new generation of soccer fans to make a difference in our communities." He emphasized how the trip broadened his horizons, urging him to consider where he wanted to direct his energy and efforts.

One aspect that stood out to Seb was the camaraderie among volunteers - like-minded individuals coming together with the best intentions and energy, all united by their love for the game. But the true highlight for him? Witnessing the sheer joy on the children's faces when they received the donated gear. "Seeing the kids running around, trying on their new gear, laughing, and just having fun – it's a feeling like no other," he recalled with a smile.

Another unforgettable moment for Seb was taking the wheel for the first time in Jamaica. The freedom of driving through the streets, surrounded by the vibrant colors and sounds of the island, left an indelible mark on him.

But perhaps what resonated with Sebastian the most was the lasting impact he and his fellow volunteers had on the kids. "Those kids remember you," he reflected. He mentions how year after year, they remember the faces of the volunteers who came to make a difference. He is humbled to know that the impact we have is substantial. It truly means something.

As Seb continues to reflect on his time in Jamaica, he carries with him the memories of laughter, camaraderie, and the profound impact of making a difference in the lives of others. And as he looks to the future, he is inspired to continue using his passion for soccer as a catalyst for positive change in the world.
